This tool changer spindle is specially designed for the Sherline 5000er series. However, you can also use it for any small CNC MILL projects. It important that the two ball bearings accurately fit into a housing bracket. It is a quite simple system, the space between the two ball bearings is sealed by two rubber washers above the bearings adding air pressure. The air presses the internal pneumatic cylinder, and the tool holder is ejected. The tool holder is fixed with a spring in the cone. The tool holder works with ER11 collets (selectable from 1,0 mm to 8,0 mm). Total length: 130 mm. Biggest diameter: 30 mm. Concentricity: 0,01 mm. Maximal spindle speed: 3.000 tpm. Again, no headstock, spindle, or drive motor are included. Includes the lathe base/bed/Crosslide/Tailstock/new leadscrews and nuts/deluxe zero adjustable handwheels. This is a very economical way to add long-bed zero-adjustable handwheel larger lathe capabilities to your existing inch/metric 2000 5400 5410 5800 mill or 8 4000 4010 4410 WW watchmaker lathe. This Sherline 4400 Inch 17 Lathe Mill w as a v. Ery clean low use CNC unit that has been refurbished and converted to manual control zero-adjustable handwheels with new leadscrew/parts and cross slide table/screw/nuts. Works smoothly and tightly as a new lathe – no observable backlash, play, or leadscrew wear. Only mod observed was the tailstock handwheel had the handle removed – new handle/hardware is inly a couple of dollars from Sherline, but isn’t necessary for use. All moving parts are greased, bed has way oil, very minor oxidation on bed as pictured doesn’t affect function at all. Package is large and heavy with the long bed.

The software runs through the best motion controller on the market and supports lathe threading, electronic backlash control, and additional rotary axes and I/O. Includes new tooling- collets, quick change lathe tool post, carbide mills and a full set of indexable carbide insert lathe tools.
