Here is a Bridgeport CNC R2E3 with updated controls. This is the best Bridgeport base made with the wide chrome ways and the inline Z axis ballscrew. The control is a later model Bridgeport based on a Pentium 686 and a solid state DOM (disk on module). The drivers are late model Servo Dynamics and AMC. The control does not work properly. When I first powered up the machine, nothing came up on the screen. I then plugged in another flat screen computer monitor (included) and then made some progress. The computer appeared to boot up and ultimately showed a “Bridgeport” display, but there was an error message that it couldn’t find the FMDC board. The inverter spindle drive works fine. Im keeping the FP42NC and this one is up for sale. The “L” series machines are amazing prototype machines. Perfect for those unusual jobs that no other machine will handle. Machine works perfectly, you can see it below in referenced mode. Spindles are tight and quiet. 3 width in steel below, no chatter! Ways are perfect, with no apparent wear. Buyers are welcome to check the machine out in person at my shop where it is wired to power. This a traveling column machine with glass scales. It has a cutting area of 31″ in X by 15″ in Y and 15 in Z. You wont find another CNC machine with this size envelope anywhere for the footprint. Glass scales make this unit very accurate, you could probably use it as a CMM in a pinch. This machine has a large working surface and a t-slots on the front of the table allowing for overhanging work. The table can be mounted on the next set of T slots for additional headspace. Table can be removed for mounting other angle plates or angle/rotary tables. Mounting face is 45 degrees with 90mm t slot spacing. The upper spindle assembly is on a dovetail so it can be moved forward for extra travel. Factory coolant pump and tank along with (1) Deckel coolant hose assembly with adjustable valve. The control is a Dialog 3 and has RS232 input for loading and sending programs from a PC. It has 24K of memory. Electronic handwheel pictured is included. The control enclosure has an integral 440 to 380 transformer. It has a 2500 RPM horizontal and vertical spindle All three NiCAD Batteries packs in the Control and the PLC are newly replaced. I will also provide a working post processor for this machine. The control monitor can be easily converted to LCD. The Y axis glass scale has the newer green plastic dust seals but you will need to replace the seals on the Z and X axis as they are worn out. (X is less important as its hard to get any contamination up there due to the way its mounted). These seals are available from Heidenhain in bulk rolls and are pretty easy to change. I will include printed photo illustrated instructions on how to change the seals out and clean the glass scales. NEW flexible wire bundle protective tubing is installed. I guarantee that the machine is in good mechanical condition, and that the Dialog 3 CNC control, and all cards in the PC1 PLC and the Siemens SIMOREG Servo amp are in good working condition.
