Nice Burke horizontal milling machine, model 50445-A. In good overall functional and cosmetic shape. The machine runs smoothly and quietly. Drum / reversing switch works properly. Nice shop built stand with two shelves / and sliding doors to store tooling. Stand also has adjustable leveling feet. A large amount of tooling is included: cutters, arbors, spacers, etc. The screws are in good shape and there is smooth movement on the x, y, and z axes. Power feed works well. There is a functional coolant tank and pump but it will need to be plumbed. The table is already tapped for a drain. The table is 3.75″ x 16″. The vise is not original or pretty, but it’s one I had lying around that I will include with the mill. Very neat single phase, dual voltage Lima motor. Currently wired for 110. This motor has an integral four speed gearbox. There is some damage to the back of the motor case that does not affect operation. Bring help to load. It’s heavy but can be dollied onto a trailer with a couple of people or can be removed from its base for loading into the back of a truck. I will pallet it and drop it off NO charge TO Fastnell. The Mill spindle bearings sound a little noise when spun by hand. I tested the motor with a VFD but I did not see the mill run under power. Looks like the is a gear rack missing that operates the saddle up and down the wiring is old and should be redone. This was acquired from a recently closed machine shop. Hello, and good day. I have, for sale, a Burke Millrite milling machine from 1968. This machine is in good working order and perfect for the home or hobby machinist. Its a small machine, 220/ 3 phase. It has an R8 collet head, and a 1HP motor. There is some backlash in all the lead screws but for being literally 50 years old, its in good condition. I wanted to put an aftermarket DRO on it and if it doesn’t sell i may still do that. I have been using it for small projects and it works great. It does have variable speed/ forward-reverse control on the X-axis it came this way from the factory but the variable speed control box was missing when i bought it, so i found an aftermarket one and rebuilt the motor and installed it. The motor works great and the control box works great, motor does like to push the locking mechanism on the X-axis. But its easily adjusted. The only other issue is that the motor isnt wired up to spin in both directions, this one only spins in clock wise direction. Backlash i as follows. This amount of backlash could maybe be adjusted but i haven’t tried, ive been using it fine like it is.
