Clausing 8520 Vertical Milling Machine. This is a great example of this sought after home shop milling machine with nice extras. At that time I also replaced the stock motor with a 3/4 hp, 3 phase motor with a VFD that runs from a standard 115 volt outlet. This allows the remote control box to operate the machine in forward/reverse and provides a nearly infinite range of speeds. The table surfaces are in very good shape with no marks or injury and little back lash. The 5″ vice is included as is a set of MT2 collets along with a 2″ boring head attachment and full set of part hold down hardware. The mill includes a mobile base with front leveling/locking screws. The 8520 was rarely found with an X axis table feed and I found the original drawings to enable the use of a stock Servo brand table feed which works perfectly and included with the machine. I have recently acquired a full size Lagun mill and so now my Clausing must find a new home. I have for a recently refurbished Clausing 8520. Head stock has been completely rebuilt. New bearings all in the spindle new gears in the quill feed. Brand new 3/4 HP 115V single phase Baldor motor. Comes with a set of MT2 collets and draw bar is in the spindle. Also a 3 Kurt vise. It could use a new motor pulley but still runs, it also needs a fine feed wheel. Also has a hold down set that’s included. I did keep the original patina on the Clausing plaque. I have a video of the motor and spindle running if requested to see it. Hi guys here is a very nice clausing milling machine , this came from the original owner and it has been in his. These nice little mills are scarce to begin with , but more rare is to find one in such nice condition , with very. Little wear , he also had a bridgeport to do heavy work and this was used for light duty second op work. It has the original clausing vise with handle , an assortment of collets , and all the handles and knobs. And whats really nice is THERE ARE NO DRILL HOLES IN THE TABLE. Thats rare by itself. It is single phase 110 volt with the original motor. Clausing 8520 milling machine in great shape. Virtually zero backlash and all sliding surfaces are very nice. Recently installed Ditron DRO. 3 phase machine with VFD (240v single phase to 3 phase).
