Sherline 5400 Deluxe Vertical Milling Machine

NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM. My brother set up this Deluxe Vertical Milling Machine and was on his work bench and looked like it does in the picture with the Sherline plastic covering on it. I do not know about machines. There is equipment on there allowing you to center a piece both forward to back and left to right. I have tagged the pieces A, B, C &D (the last 3 pictures A being the base plate). The box is 18x18x18 weighing 41lbs. Sherline 5400 Deluxe Vertical Milling Machine. The main difference between a lathe and a mill is that on a lathe, the work turns and the cutting tool is stationary, while on a mill, the tool turns and the work is stationary. Because the tool turns rather than the work, much larger parts can be worked on in a mill, and these parts need not be round. The work is securely held, thus extremely accurate hole patterns can be drilled or bored. The longer X-axis throw also increases the machines versatility over that of the lathe with the vertical milling column attachment. It is an extremely rigid, accurate tool that accomplishes tough machining jobs with ease. My brother was a machinist in Connecticut and retired to Florida. He then suffered a stroke and was never able to use them. Most of the items were in the original boxes. I have received feedback on 5772. Many items were to the same buyers over the years.
