As expected it appears to have had an easy life. This looks like an excellent horizontal mill with many accessories and operator’s manual. Now it just sits in our shop taking up space. We are in the process of retiring and starting to sell a bunch of our equipment and fleet of vintage restoration trucks. We cannot guarantee the mill since we have never used it. However, we have plugged in and it runs perfectly. With no signs of physical damage or abuse, we would expect it to most likely operate as designed. I had to do a lot of research to find a company making reprints of instruction/parts manual for the mill, finding a manual for the Burke Model 4 which I’m not sure how close to correct it is. The mill seems weigh between 200-300 pounds. AF 33 (038) 600 17016. Indexing Head; T-slot rotary vise base; 13 cutters from 1/8 to 1 wide. In our efforts to be as self-reliant prepared as possible, we have set up a small DIY machine shop. We have found only the Bridgeport mill and Summit lathe ever get used. Therefore, we have decided to sell the Burke horizontal mill, Central Machinery vertical mill and the FMC brake lathe. The ways look perfect. There is no apparent slop in any adjustments. Considering it came out of a university environment with regular service, it is no surprise it appears to be in great shape.
