Emco Unimat 3 Lathe and Mill, Separate Milling machine, lots of attachments and Case. I have had this lathe and mill set up stored for a number years and recently decided to sell it. I just bought a few new belts and everything works. You will see some rust on some of the surfaces and a lot of rust on the spring return of one of the drill motors. It does seem to clean up easily and all of the moving surfaces are in good shape and move smooth and easily. Please note the large number of accessories. The lathe has the power feed attached. One of the mill/drill motors does not have a press handle. You can easily move the one included between the two. In one picture I took a few of the attachments out of the case for a better view. The brackets are made of 1/4 6061 Aluminum. The guide ways are hardened steel. The screw and nuts are stainless steel. Zero set handwheel with roller thrust and stainless sleeve with 100 divisions. The the nuts are adjustable to help achieve and maintane Zero backlash. The thread is 8mm x 1 left(just like the Unimat thread). There is a 2mm shim that fits in the head stock adapter(where the clamping bolt goes) to lock it in place and keep it open enough to slide easily. Milling post and headstock adapter are NOT included(for demo purposes only). Has 1mm x 6 thread to set up like the Unimat hand wheels(it screws on the screw with a lock nut). I did a load test… I put the headstock on and then I put my hand on top of that and leaned on itabout 30lbs. Just in case anyone had any doubts about that. I acquired this precision milling tool many years ago from a retired clockmaker, who used it for machining small metal parts required for his clock repair business. I dont know the exact origin but its nicely constructed and fitted with a motor that came from a Unimat DB 200 mini-lathe, which means it has been around awhile. The workpiece is held by a built-in pin-vise whose X/Y-position is controlled manually by vernier rotary controls; The Z-position of the cutting tool is set by a similar control on top of the vertical slide-rack. The unit occupies about one cubic foot in volume and weighs about 25 pounds so it fits compactly on a workbench. The overall condition is very good and all the racks move freely but the machine could use cleaning and oiling to achieve maximum smoothness. The spindle turns freely and comes with an assortment of tool-holding collets as shown in one of the photos.
