1 w 3/8 shank Fly Cutter for Mini Mill, Taig, and like size
1 fly cutter for milling larger surfaces. This cutter is individually hand crafted in the usa to precision tolerances to accept a 1/4 hss tool, but if needed can use brazed carbide tool if you wish(note these are not always the stated tool size for brazed carbide tools, so if needed i can craft one to meet your specific needs). I will provide the fly cutter, set screws and allen wrench to fit them. The cutter is made from 12l14 steel with a 3/8″ shank and to accept a 1/4″ square tool width. Angle is set at 20 degrees for tool. 001 and tool diameter is 1.000 -. 005 to ensure precision angles from stock. Surface finish when using a fly cutter is based on depth of cut, speed of the cutter and shape of tool. Material width cut is based on how much tool is sticking out from the cutter, starting is about 1.250 and greater, but too much tool sticking out could cause a poor finish or tool chatter. I do not provide the tool because i feel i would not be able to provide the best quality or profile you might wish to use. Fits taig and like smaller mills, but will work with large as well, i use with an r8 collet in my lms 3900. Please note i can make any tool slot size you need or shank diameter. I have 1.5″ and 1″ stock on hand, other can be obtained within 3 days if you needed. But if you need a custom style built, please let me know.
