12,000 RPM High Speed Head Spindle for Bridgeport Mill Milling Machine 1HP. Prior Government owned, was in storage for very long time, I received it from a man who owned it for 25 years and it was not used by him, it had cosmoline on much of it when I got it and still needs some cleaning and it needs a belt. The 3 phase motor runs well in forward and reverse, it is currently wired for low voltage 3 phase. I ran it on my vfd up to 60Hz which is not included. The spindle spins easily and smooth but I dont know what it sounds like at 12k as I dont have the belt. I had plans for this that are not going to work out so Im going to have to let it go. It is mounted on a very heavy angle plate and currently bolted to a cast base which is not included. Please ask questions if you have any and I would be glad to try to answer or send pictures. Bridgeport J Head 1HP Milling Machine. Fully disassembled, cleaned, and restored. New parts (all from H+W). Split nuts for both lead screws. “Top Half Rebuild kit, ” new belts and all new bearings in the pully housing. Top gear case packed with grease instead of oil. New spindle oil strainer. Felt wipers for all ways. Filters for one shot lube system. All new oil lines. New power downfeed trip lever. It has the oldest geared Bridgeport powerfeed, but no motor to drive it. It has a Bijur one shot lube system, that I also took apart, cle. Aned, and filled with fresh oil. The power downfeed works great, very smooth. I have videos of everything in operation that I can send. Great old machine, missing a little paint but good working condition. Gibs are shimmed, and when the gibs are fully tight, wear in the ways limits the table and saddle travel. It has a travel of 19″ longitudinal, and 8″ cross travel. One might be able to adjust the gibs, or remove the shims. The machine still holds great tolerances within its reduced travel, in my limited experience.
