This is a very economical way to add long-bed zero-adjustable handwheel larger lathe capabilities to your existing inch/metric 2000 5400 5410 5800 mill or 8 4000 4010 4410 WW watchmaker lathe. This Sherline 4400 Inch 17 Lathe Mill w as a v. Ery clean low use CNC unit that has been refurbished and converted to manual control zero-adjustable handwheels with new leadscrew/parts and cross slide table/screw/nuts. Works smoothly and tightly as a new lathe – no observable backlash, play, or leadscrew wear. Only mod observed was the tailstock handwheel had the handle removed – new handle/hardware is inly a couple of dollars from Sherline, but isn’t necessary for use. All moving parts are greased, bed has way oil, very minor oxidation on bed as pictured doesn’t affect function at all. Package is large and heavy with the long bed.

The mill has X and Z travel of 7-8″ and Y Travel of 4-5″ The HP PC features a brand new 24 touch screen monitor and we are including licensed new Mach and BobCAD-CAM V35 software (we are an authorized reseller for both companies). The software runs through the best motion controller on the market and supports lathe threading, electronic backlash control, and additional rotary axes and I/O. Includes new tooling- collets, quick change lathe tool post, carbide mills and a full set of indexable carbide insert lathe tools.

Sherline CNC Mill CNC Lathe Desktop CNC. In spectacular shape, near new! Both machines come with pneumatic vise/ jaws. Features only seen on larger machines. The base machines are Sherline made in the USA (replacement parts are extremely easy to find via Sherlines website). As well as hundreds of accessories. Lathe has encoder, threading is possible. Cabinets have no dents or scratches or cracks. Plexiglass has little to so scuffs or scratches. Enclosures are in amazing shape. Electronics in cabinet are extremely clean. You can either contact Denford and get a hold of the software or retrofit them with another board. Items located at Manteno IL 60950. Docks and forklift available or loading. Sherline 5400 mill cnc conversion kit complete with masso controller. I got talked into purchasing this complete kit to convert my 5400 mill to Cnc by a friend who assured me he knew how to program, read, write the code necessary to start making stuff. Well turns out he knew nothing. I installed all the components we called sherline (they are great) who verified my work was done correctly and walked us through all the axis’s XY and x. Well my friend fessed up he had no clue about Cnc and I don’t either so I carefully removed and labeled everything so I can get on with making chips manually. My loss is your gain. Everything is here except the paper speed reader which is glued to the headstock pulley. These are available from sherline for a couple of bucks.
