Very Rare Antique or Vintage BROWN & SHARPE Serial # 84 Tool and Cutter Grinder or Milling Machine 6358 Dividing Head in outstanding used condition – the predecessor to today’s Hardinge and Yuasa Indexing Tools and a scarce find for collectors or to put to use right away – with many modern versions now even referred to as the Brown & Sharpe type. This terrific and extremely rare early Brown & Sharpe Dividing Head Set was acquired recently from a closed local machine shop with Bridgeport CNC and TESA Milling Machines, along with South Bend 9 Heavy 10 and 13 Lathes. Machinists Toolmakers and collectors can look far and wide and will simply not find another set in such nice and complete condition. Here is a nice Brown & Sharpe Dividing / Indexing Head. It accepts #4 morse taper. Included is a #4 MT chuck and dead center. The thread for mounting a chuck is 2-1/4 x 4-1/2 TPI. The face plate is 6-3/4″ and the dividing plate is 5″. The center height is a little under 5-3/16 (5.165).
