As in the name, the C-Beam Machine XL makes full use of theC-Beam linear rail, which inturn uses the proven to work v-slot profile. Combining the C-Beam linear railwith other standard parts, allows for easy ACMElead screw linear actuators tobe created. Four C-Beam linear actuators are usedon the XL to drive the X, Y(2) and Z axes. With the use of precise ACME leadscrews, and anti-backlashACME nut block systems, highly accurate parts can bemanufactured with theC-Beam Machine XL. What Is Different On The XL? Apart from the max cutting size 750x330mm compared to305x280mm on the original, it has many other beneficial upgrades. The mainadvantage on the XL is that all the leadscrews are orientated to minimize theamount of cutting debris which can landon them, this is crucial for the longterm accuracy and life span of themachine. The XL takes advantage of the latestC-Beam XL Gantry plate, this is a1/4 thick aluminium plate, and isincredibly sturdy. Combined with XtremeSolid V Wheels, this is an unbeatablesetup. Lastly dual C-Beam actuators areused on the Y-Axis insuring there isenough power for even the toughest jobs. To make the build even easier, we carry out all thepreparation work needed, this includes: Precisely cutting the extrusions, Tapping the Extrusions andFilling the cast corners. We also systematically bagand label the parts withtheir name and quantity, so you can quickly locateparts when needed. We havehad great feedback using this system on our otherkits, and it has proven to bewell worth the time. What is in the Kit. Our C-Beam XL Mechanical kit includes everything needed tocomplete the mechanical portion ofthe C-Beam Machine XL. In addition to this wehave the option to include 3 xNEMA23 Stepper Motors available in three different torquesizes: 175oz (2.8A), 265oz(2.8A), and 345oz (3.0A). When choosing the motorsize, keep in mind thecontroller you are using, and the rated ampage of thedrivers. If you plan touse the xPro or similar, we recommend the 175oz or 265ozmotors only. Also be aware that if something goes wrong you are more likely todamage the machine with larger motors, as the smallest ones will stall beforeany damage iscaused. You can be confident on the quality of the parts we supply in the kitbecause they are all genuine Openbuilds. The main components not included, whichareneeded to get the C-Beam machine cutting and running is MDF boards, Powersupply, Controller board, and Router. The C-Beam and V-Slot linear rails are pre-cut. And the ACME Lead screwsprovided are to the correct length. Please note theDewalt Router and MDF Boards seen in the pictures are not included with the kit. The router seen in the pictures is aDewalt D26200 (UK)or DWP611 (US) and is highly recommended. For the MDF boardsyou will need 2 x900x500mm & 1 x 800x400mm boards, the thickness is up toyou, 12mm is theminimum, 18mm is used in our pictures.
